Protection causes low self-esteem. It causes the child to be hurt by others. They then have a problem
of not knowing why this is happening too them. They then don't know why things are different for
them than the others around them.

Have belief in your child just as much you would have for your other children. Teach family members to
have faith in the child as well. The more support he child has they will feel better about themselves. This
will also allow them to fell good about themselves
Do I need to make preparations for my child?
Your child needs to learn the basic skill like any of your other children. You can not believe that your
child will be with you for the rest of their lives. Preparation for life skill is even more important to
know, as well as. learning to learn to live with the disability.
How do I let the child leave to nest?
Teach your child the home basic. Like shopping for food and clothes. Teach them about money
and paying bills. Teach how to clean and other skills like fixing small things around the house.
Over time, teach them how to make their own appointments as well for their basic health.
Don't leave anything out: family, friends, job, and sex.
Your child needs to learn the life lessons as everyone else. Your child is more and likely not to
participate in everything in the world. It is still necessary that they understand the world around
them. they need to learn about relationships in all forms. Don;t forget to teach them about
emotional and sexual experiences so they understand their bodies Remember, we all carry
the same emotions. There should not be a reason not too learn.
